YEah..I agree. Haters should not respond...
Yes....I am ALL for IMPROVING the pad design of the 1000. Then I will start adding MPC to its name when talking about it

OK, we can agree upon something. But let's keep it civil. We can't be argueing ten pages deep, as it would sidetrack the purpose of this thread. Fair enough?

Cool. Just making sure that anyone else reading don't get the wrong impression and start a free-for-all.

distortedtekno wrote: I just got off the phone with Nick from VST and we were discussing the pad issues with the MPC1000. Since the MPC500 has all the pads on one sheet like all the other MPC's, we both agree that it should be possible to implement this design on the MPC1000. All Akai need to do is use the same size pad frame that exists on the MPC1000 and re-design it so that this frame and pads (in one piece) can become a drop-in replacement. Nick suggested that I start this topic, so that Akai will see how many people are interested. So here I am with the proposal. All in favor, please respond here and let Akai know that we would like see this happen (as we know for a fact that it's been done for the MPC500).The end result would make just about every MPC1000 owner extremely happy, as well as increase sales for Akai. So it's a win-win situation for all (even if it costs a bit more, I'd pay the money). Tutor - if you can make this a sticky topic, I'd greatly appreciate it. PS- To all the MPC1000 haters (and I won't even mention names), please don't respond if you don't have anything positive to say!

I'm Definately In Too
Can someone explain how it will solve the pads problems of the 1000? What are the physics involved?

It's not going to happen overnight, so be patient, spread the word and get more people to respond here. That's the best we can do in order to keep things going.

Great idea! I would buy this, I have already gone in and re-glued each piece of graphite. 16 pads!! It took a long while and was really tedious. I don't want to have to do it again, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Please do this Akai.

It's cool im just a little upset... i don't have much cash and i don't like how akai tried to play us all with the pad design. it's almost like i got jinxed battling savillion on the issue with the F****d up pads. I hate having to hit save in order to load. feel me? or switching around samples in order to trigger sounds, keeping the mpc on full levels or taking pad 3 and throwing it on 16 levels velocity...... I don't have the cash or the paitence right now to be spending over 100 dollars on individual pad replacements ..... if they can make the 500 pad design on one sheet. then its no doubt that akai can do the same with the mpc 1000!!!!
I swear the machine was intended to fail....
Looks like akai had been taking notes from the automoblie industry!
1st it was the crappy os now this.
screw it...
JJ if you want to make more money.
figure out how to make new pads for us poor folks
