Nice site but.....it is outdated. I looked up Fort Worth and Dallas, only 2 of the stores I listed was found and 1 of them has been out of business for over a year.

That is why I thought a thread like this would be good. If the forum members posted actual stores they shop at regularly, we would know what places are in business.

http://www.zebedeesrpm.com/ - ZeeBeDee's is a Big Pink House that has a great vibe and I think the owner lives there. Lots of records, good condition, decent prices, nice people. Some hard to find stuff. They do trades and even pay cash for records.

http://www.merchantcircle.com/business/ ... 6-241-5049 - This big ass flea market called Super Flea has a HUUUGE record store in the back, where EVERYTHIG is $1. Lots of beaten up records but it is very possible to come up on scores if you go on the right day.

http://www.prosperosbookstore.com/ - Not the best, but they do have a decent collection. It's really close to ZeeBeDee's, so they can be hit up consecutively. Records are in the basement.

There's a Half Price Books with a good record selection about 1 mile from ZeeBeDee's and Prospero's. Google it if you're going to go to the other 2, it's close by.

Main room is very well organized, almost too organized because they're mostly on racks instead of crates. It's harder to dig but easy to find something if you know what you want. Only concern is that unless you're rich, you're going to leave a LOT of things behind that you want.

Shit...I forgot the name and google's not helping..but if you ask someone on the street (it's a college town, it's no problem) where the comic book store is...there's a nice little record spot right next door to it. Forgot everything about it except that it has a good selection and the records are in good condition and pretty well organized. A bit pricey, but not too bad.

One of my favourite record stores in Manchester. Friendly service (rare for a Manchester record store), cheap, nice and quiet and away from the city centre and you're also free to listen to anything you want in the shop (vinyl of course). Have a good £1 bin (our equivalent of the dollar bin).

A record store in the centre of Manchester. Staff can be unhelpful, unfriendly twats posing behind the counter, but they have an ok (overpriced) selection. Mainly sell reissues.

A decent sized record store in the centre of Liverpool. Friendly service but unfortunately no listening station. Loads of soul, jazz, funk, rock, pop, folk, etc. Yes, they also stock Beatles memorabilia and have a decent sized Beatles section.

Robs Records

This shop is where forgotten records end up. Say Robs Records to any local in Nottingham and they'll tell you where it is and they'll tell you about him! His shop has really earned him legendary status in Nottingham. You'll never forget the mess, stacks of records, radio 1 on the go, the cold and the dust. There are MILLIONS of records in here. Bring a portable record player a flask of tea and be prepared to spend YEARS in here. There is probably a dead body under all those piles of records.

when I first moved to the DFW TX area I did internet searches for "record stores" in the area, a lot of the entries turned out to be outdated but I found a few, and it helped me to learn my way around. Living in Grand Prairie I was very happy to find Forever Young Records as I am a five minute drive from it. But I buy most of my stuff now from Half Price Book Store and Salvation Army, if I find more spots I'll post it up. I'm sure there's more Mom & Pop shops I haven't stumbled upon yet....

Love Garden was having a blow out sale at their old location these past 2 weeks.

Secrets... I tell you first. All you KC/Lawrence heads sleep on the T-Town. There aint much of a scene here but there is 2 nice spots that I can depend on. Ill have to drop by Kc again for them other places.

A new place just opened up the other day, called Retroplex, in Dallas. I haven't been, yet. I will post the address as soon as I find it.
