not that simple.

DEF not that simple... but that said, yes I agree. The lack of "Traditional" Simult Pad almost ruins 2XL for me.

I just want Simult Back!
I dont care if we loose Chord or Arp or keep them, as long as we get Simult Back.
It really cripples osXL
I know its not a simple switch but JJ did write the os so there has to be a way he could bring it back.
Maybe if we can look at it from another angle and explain it to JJ we could get it happening.
If we can get Simult back this osXL will be unstoppable!

Peace!

I actually wrote the following message to JJ a while back. It went unanswered. Feel free to send them something similar:

Many JJ OS users at MPC-Forums.com are upset about the change in Simult Pad in 2XL. I am part of the group that wishes to add features from 2XL into OS2. However, I would prefer to use 2XL, if it was capable of triggering simult pads in the "traditional" method.

My Reasons:

1. In 2XL-- When simult pads are recorded into the sequencer, editing becomes very difficult because you must edit each individual pad that is triggered by simult pad.
2. In 2XL-- Using Pattern View works very poorly with simult pads.
3. In 2XL-- I love the "Pad Event Move to Other Track" feature. However, this feature must be used up to 4 times if you're moving a pad that will trigger other pads through simult pad.

All of the above issues would be resolved if JJ OS2XL was able to use the traditional simult pad system, similar to OS2. I am willing to discuss further, pay further, and do whatever I can to help in programming this. "Traditional simult pad" is very important to many of your customers, and 2XL is receiving poor reviews due to the change in simult pad.

Elevated, That is a great email to send to JJ, i'm surprised he didn't reply.
If we can get enough users to get together i'm sure JJ will need to take this issue seriously!
Lets see what happens.
Peace!

hmmm... you know what this sounds like? OS 2 !!!

if you don't care about arp & chord & want the old simult then just use OS 2.

and if you want some of those cool 2XL shortcuts added to OS 2 then shoot JJ a brief email and let him know. it ain't gonna happen anytime soon but the more people he hears from that want it the more likely he is to do it.

That sounds cool but I dont think os2 has timing strength which is a real dope feature on the new os

first i'd rather some effort was put into getting a decent arp - the current one is half-baked to say the least. old simult would be handy, but i doubt bombarding JJ with requests will make much difference - he seems to be too busy with the windows software

I already gave up on that. I doubt JJ will make any major changes with the features of the os anymore...

Using OS2, i think it´s the best for what i do. TC Strength would be killer, though. Miss the 2nd filter too.

which is kinda dumb of him, cause his program will get cracked in a snap, while JJ OS is uncrackable.

yeah, quantize strength and filter 2 in os2 would have been bang on.

also - im very surprised at the amount of 'don't give a ****' on the poll. Im wondering, how many of them dont use silmult after recording, and how many just stayed on os2.
